How it all began!!!
My husband bought me my first Turkish Van (white/auburn) Male kitten from Stella Stocker on 2nd February 2007. Turk ,as we impulsively called him, looked just like a little white powder puff and would not stay still for one minute. At the age of 18 months we entered him for his first show. To our surprise he took first place in his open class and also took best of breed. However, showing was not to be for him, as he started to become stressed and we decided to retire him from shows. He had a very short but very successful career. He still sometimes goes to the shows but only as a exhibit which he is happy to do... We learned from this experience that the well being of the cat is of overriding importance. We have taken forward this philosophy in all our ventures within the world of Turkish Vans.
During our time at the various shows we met and became very good friends with many people who have readily given us guidance and advice on all aspects of owning and breeding Turkish Vans.In particular a fellow breeder called Marianne Upham has been a constant help and support. I am very proud to own one of her championship cats- Farfet Benim Lokum or Gaia as she is known to us.
Gaia is still a full breeding Queen and on the 9th December 2008 produced her first litter to us. Please view our picture gallery to see Gaia's kittens. They really are that cute! If you want to know more about Turkish Vans and are interested in owning a cat that will become your friend and so much more then contact me on the following number. Contact Number : 01753 684665
We are located just off junction 14 on the M25 in Stanwell Moor which is very close to Heathrow Airport.
It is very important that you must realise that the Turkish Van breed is exclusively an indoor cat.If you are looking for a free roaming cat that comes and goes when he wants, then this is not the breed for you.
My cats are for indoor homes only!!!
Thanks for reading my story and I hope to hear from you soon.
